Abstract: Cyber security threats are a major issue in the world today, this is why understanding the propagation of cyber-attacks is a very fundamental requirement for the establishment of strategies to control and absolutely reduce the damage of major cyber security threats on the cyber space. In this work, we explored the application of mathematical modeling to analyze and mitigate cyber security threats. As cyber attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated, the need for robust and quantifiable methods to detect, prevent, and respond to these threats is more critical than ever. Mathematical modeling provides a structured and systematic approach to understanding the dynamics of cyber security threats, enabling organizations to develop more effective defense mechanisms. A proof of this is the findings from this study that shows that cyber security threats can significantly decrease the effectiveness of cyber networks. Both fields tend to totally rely on mathematical techniques to represent and simulate systems, identify vulnerabilities, and strategically formulate effective countermeasures.
