Abstract: The study investigated the roles of the libraries in Enhancing Reading Culture and Research Capabilities of the Nigerian Army Personnel. In today's rapidly evolving world, the importance of reading and research cannot be overstated especially within the context of organizations like the Nigerian Army. Libraries play a crucial role in cultivating a reading culture and enhancing research capabilities among military personnel. By providing access to a wealth of resources, libraries serve as vital hubs of knowledge and learning, thereby empowering soldiers with the information necessary for effective decision-making, strategic planning, and personal development. This study delves into the multifaceted roles of libraries within the Nigerian Army, focusing on their contributions to fostering a reading culture and enhancing research capabilities. The study covered the functions of the Nigerian Army which includes the access role of the library as the place and the space where the information seeker can access information and the user education on how to use information resources. The study enumerated some of the constraints to be Changed in Nigeria’s value system, Economic hardship, Astronomical prices of books and other information materials, poor availability of indigenous books, cost of publishing books is very high and Advent of home videos finally, the study concluded by giving ways of enhancing the reading culture and research output to include Networking and collaborating with other institution or organizational libraries among others.
