Abstract: ABSTRACT The thesis titled Factors that Influence the Adoption of Electronic Banking Systems Among Small-scale Farmers in Kaduna State, Nigeria explores the role of socio-economic characteristics, benefits, challenges, and adoption of mobile payment systems among farmers. This research focuses on how mobile payment services like Point of Sale (POS), mobile banking, and ATMs contribute to improving financial inclusion and transaction efficiency in the agricultural sector. Using a survey-based methodology, the study sampled farmers across Kaduna State to identify factors affecting the uptake of e-banking services, such as education, income, technology literacy, and awareness. The results reveal that age, transaction costs, and internet access significantly impact POS usage, while mobile banking adoption is influenced by education, e-banking knowledge, and access to bank accounts. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders to enhance the accessibility and usage of e-banking services to improve the livelihood of smallholder farmers.
