dc.description.abstractThis paper is set to highlight the available wireless connectivity in the university libraries and importance of the wireless connectivity to user of the library. To do justice to this paper, the researchers define the concept of internet as the coming together of computers and telecommunication in accessing and dissemination of information. The concept of wireless networking is the technology that allows two or more computers to communicate without network cabling. The type of wireless networking were identified to include amongst other; Wireless personal area networks (WPANs), wireless local area network (WLAN), wireless mesh network, Wireless metropolitan area networks (PMAN), Wireless wide area networks (WAN), and recently with advancement of technology has brought to the world Mobile devices networks which uses Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Personal Communications Service (PCS), Digital Advanced Mobile Phone Service (D-AMPS). Wireless services were explained to mean the range of communication, such as radio transmitters and receivers. The Importance of Wireless Connectivity in University Library identify in the paper are; low cost, ease of implementation, broadening access to library services, boundless and dynamic. The paper conclude with factors affecting the use of Wireless Connectivity in University Libraries enumerated in the paper are; poor financing, technical know-how, hardware and software problems and Power outage.
