dc.description.abstractABSTRACT The need for efficient, effective and fast means of processing . data in all areas of human endeav ur made the use of computers desirable especially in day to day running of affairs for individual and corporate organisations. This study is an expert system produced to serve as an . alternative to manually operated procedures as obtained in the department of land with regards to land allocation, collection and payment of ground rents and other related activities surrounding acquisition of landed properties in the state. The Project highlights the importance of land use decree promulgated in 1978 to give land only to those in need. The approach adopted is a management information system (M ~S) which involves carrying out analysis (investigation) on the current system with the sole objective of providing an improvement. ADBMS package dbase iv version was chosen for the task because it provides facilities for retrieving, generating and updating. It also allow many end users with a variety of application packages.en_US
