T Presented in this thesis is the analysis and design of a 2- storey School building. The general principle of ultimate and serviceability limit state design has been adopted. In arriving at a good and perfect design, structural components which have the same geometrical properties and boundary conditions are grouped together for load and bending moment analysis, according to the specifications from the code of practice for structural use of concrete CBS 8110) parts, 1, 2 and 3 of 1997. Checks were carried out to ensure that each structural component satisfies the serviceability requirements of BS 8110. The bearing capacity of soil within Kuje Area has been given to be lS0KN/m2 . All design calculations are done in S.I units. The research work has broadens my understanding in analysis and design of a structure.en_US
