dc.description.abstract | This paper examines indigenous communication and undertakes a survey of the various media and technology of indigenous communication. It tries to see the relevance of this technology and media of indigenous communication, namely, instrumental communication; demonstrative communication; iconographic communication; extra-mundane communication; visual communication; institutional communication; venue oriented communication; myths and legends; names as communication; and folktales and proverbs – it examines their relevance in today’s contemporary world. The article examines the challenges that indigenous communication faces in the modern world and concludes by making a number of recommendations, including the standardization of the different media of indigenous communication. | en_US |
