Abstract

This paper explores the strategic role of libraries in fostering creativity and collaboration through the development of maker spaces and innovation hubs. As libraries transition-transformed from traditional repositories of knowledge to dynamic learning environments, the integration of hands-on, user-driven innovation spaces has become increasingly relevant. Drawing on conceptual frameworks from constructivist learning theory and the participatory library model, the paper examines how maker spaces and innovation hubs can reposition libraries as catalysts for community-based innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The rationale for this shift is rooted in the growing demand for 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, design thinking, and digital literacy.
