Abstract: Over the years, many techniques have been used to fabricate and process carbon nanotubes (CNTs). In the present study the basic methods of CNT synthesis, preparation, and utilization as reinforcement in MMCs were discussed. the major challenges facing its fabrication which are homogenous dispersion and wettability were highlighted. Today, many applications of CNT reinforced composites exist but CNT reinforced metals are still scarce. However, growing demand for lighter and stronger metal matrix composites (MMCs). This review describes the current state in this field and highlights the excellent and promising mechanical, thermal, electrical properties of CNT reinforced MMCs.
