dc.description.abstract | Building construction and demolition projects pose unique challenges in the areas of waste management. The wastes associated with building construction though activities include unused and excess material generated during site excavation, site clearance, construction, and renovation activities Whichever the nature and characteristics of the wastes may be, though, all wastes represent loss of resources and constitute treats as pollutants to the environment. The paper discusses some techniques that could be used to reduce waste at construction or demolition sites since each project is different and generating its own unique combination of wastes. It specifically identifies wastes produced at the building construction/demolition sites, waste reduction techniques; and discuses measures aimed at preventing environmental pollution at building sites. | en_US |
