Title: | MECHANICAL STABILIZATION OF LATERITIC SOIL USING RECLAIMED ASPHALT |
Authors: | JIYA, IBRAHIM NDADZAN |
Issue Date: | Feb-2011 |
Abstract: | ABSTRACf ..I This Project report presents a study of Mechanical Stabilization of Lateritic Soil using Reclaimed Asphalt (RA). The aim of this project is to determine the compaction characteristics of stabilized soil. The Laterite soil used in this Project was obtained along Minna- Bida road and the Reclaimed Asphalt was obtained along Shiroro Hotel road, Minna during rehabilitation activities. Standard laboratory tests that were carried out include, particles size analysis (gradation), Atterberg Limits (for index analysis), test for moisture content and compaction test. The stabilization was done at various percentages of the admixture. The results obtained at 00/0,5%, 10%, 15% and 20% showed increase and fall in Bulk Density and the corresponding Maximum Dry Density (MOD) and the Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) behaves alike. |
