dc.description.abstractThe project work " Computerisation of valuation process in a Quantity surveying firm" looks at the way of automating the valuation process as one of the numerous functions of a quantity surveyor in order to enhance efficiency It looks at the general procedures of carrying out valuation in an ideal organisation with a view of understanding what is obtainable in preparing a valuation and its inherent flaws and considering the various options available in changing over to a computerised system of valuation preparation A program was developed using ~base 11/ with the necessary requirement and input specifications and went ahead to recommend certain step to be taken in order to make computerisation in a Q. S firm a less tedious task The project work has not looked into the preparation of a bill of quantities which is a document on which valuation are baseden_US
