dc.description.abstract | The paper reported a study conducted to understand the perception of teachers on school effectiveness. Four teachers with considerable experience from four secondary schools in Penang, Malaysia were conveniently selected for the study. An open- ended questionnaire developed by the researchers was used for data collection. Data were analyzed using simple summary analysis. The results revealed that teachers perceptions are vital tools in determining school effectiveness as most of the perceptions covered the general context of school effectiveness. Teachers perceived that students in an effective school show eagerness to learn, find new approaches in improving learning,. They perceived that curriculum is appropriately and strictly implemented, principal has excellent management skills and learning environment is condusive in effective School. It was recommended among others that researchers should ficus on perception of school effectiveness as to have more ideas and clear understanding of the concept. | en_US |
