dc.description.abstract | The study investigated the effects of Computer-Aided Vee-mapping strategy and conventional teaching methods on Senior Secondary School Students’ learning outcomes in organic chemistry in Niger state, Nigeria. The study answered two research questions and tested two null hypotheses and adopted a quasi-experimental research design. Two secondary schools were selected and designated as experimental and control groups with a sample size of 103 (53 and 50). The reliability coefficient of 0.86 was obtained when the pilot study administered organic chemistry inventory to a few students of equivalent level. The data obtained were analysed to answer the research questions using mean and standard deviation, while the hypotheses were tested using an independent t-test in Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23. The findings revealed that students taught with using the Computer-Aided Vee-mapping strategy had higher interest better than those taught using the conventional teaching method; also, male students had higher interest levels in organic chemistry than female students taught with the Computer-Aided Vee-mapping strategy. Based on the findings, it was recommended that Computer Aided Vee-mapping strategy should be used for teaching and learning processes in chemistry in Nigerian schools | en_US |
