With the increase in the number of resources available in academic libraries, keeping library users informed of new acquisitions has become a necessity to improve leaning, teaching and research. Current Awareness Services (CAS) are designed to help users stay informed about recent developments, issues, and activities relating to their field of study. The Federal University of Technology Minnа Library has implemented CAS, but it is not clear how effective it is in meeting the needs and expectations of library users. This study aimed to investigate the availability and use of CAS in the Federal University of Technology Minna Library, as well as the perceived expectations of library users from CAS. The study further developed Current Awareness Service-Upgrade (CAS-UP) using a graphical design template to revitalize the existing CAS in the library. A survey research design was adopted using copies of questionnaire designed with Google Forms to randomly collect data from 234 undergraduate and postgraduate students of FUT Minna. The findings from this research showed that the level of awareness of CAS was low while the expectations from students as regards CAS was high. CAS-UP was developed as a way of upgrading the existing current awareness services using a graphical design template. This study examined the influence of institutional repository (IR) use and continuous professional development (CPD) on the academic output of agricultural lecturers in universit universities across North-Central Nigeria. A descriptive survey design employing mixed methods was adopted, targeting a population of 365 agricultural lecturers from six universities identified through the Directory of Open Access Repositories. The data collection tool was the questionnaire complimented by the observation checklist. The method of data collection was through self-administration of questionnaires by researchers in universities in North-Central utilising institutional repositories. The total enumeration method was adopted thereby using the entire population of the study since they were manageable. Research instruments were validated through a pilot test with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.75, confirming internal consistency reliability. The method of data analysis used for the study was descriptive statistics using frequency counts, mean and standard deviation to analyse the research questions, while inferential statistics such as Pearson Moment Correlational Coefficients (PPMC) for determining the relationships between the dependent and independent variables while the Multiple regression analysis was used to predict the individual impact mpact or contribution of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The findings revealed that research publications. journal articles, and theses/dissertations are the most common academic oulputs available in institutional repositories. while teaching materials, research data, and open educational resources remain scarce. The study also found that agricultural lecturers ral lecturers exhibit a high level of academic output, producing reports, preprints, and journal articles more frequently than lecture notes or presentation slides. Me .Moreover, the extent of IR use was found to be high, primarily for accessing scholarly literature, enhancing research visibility, and ensuring digital preservation. The study concludes that active utilization of institutional repositories and participation in CPD activities significantly enhance academic productivity. This study assessed the perceived impact of the institutional repository among faculty and students at Nigeria Maritime University. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population comprised academic staff and students from the Faculties of Engineering and Environmental Management. A total of 150 questionnaires were administered, out of which 104 were returned and found valid for analysis. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies, percentages, and mean scores. Findings of the study revealed that respondents generally perceived the institutional repository as highly beneficial in improving access to scholarly materials, enhancing visibility of academic work, supporting teaching and learning, promoting open access, and preserving academic outputs. It was also found that the repository is effective in facilitating knowledge sharing and academic resource organisation. However, the study identified limited institutional support and concerns about copyright as the major challenges affecting its effectiveness, while user-related issues such as lack of awareness, inadequate training, technical difficulties, and navigation problems were not considered significant. Furthermore, strategies such as increased awareness campaigns, regular training programmes, integration of the repository into academic activities, improved technical support, clear institutional policies, and active library involvement were strongly recommended to enhance its impact. Cultural artefacts are vital for preserving heritage, identity, and history, necessitating effective management strategies. Traditional physical preservation methods such as climate-controlled storage, restoration, pest management, and preventive conservation remain foundational for maintaining artefact integrity. Concurrently, digitisation techniques including 3D scanning, digital archiving, and virtual exhibitions have increasingly complemented these methods by improving documentation, accessibility, and public engagement. The review reveals that integrated approaches combining physical preservation and digitisation offer significant benefits, enhancing conservation outcomes and enabling wider dissemination of cultural knowledge. However, challenges persist, notably the high costs of digital technologies, limited technical expertise, and insufficient institutional capacity. Moreover, ethical considerations and community involvement are critical to culturally sensitive management but are often underemphasized. The methodology involved systematic literature searches across major databases using keywords related to cultural artefact preservation and digitisation, followed by rigorous screening and narrative synthesis of eligible studies. Based on findings, this review recommends increased investment in professional training, sustainable funding models, stronger policy frameworks, and active community engagement to support integrated preservation practices. Future research should explore affordable digitisation solutions adaptable to resource-limited settings and develop comprehensive models that harmonize physical and digital management techniques.
