Abstract: This study examines the impact of quality management practices and safety culture of &#xD;
furniture craftsmen on construction performance in Niger State, Nigeria. The research aims to &#xD;
identify the extent to which quality management practices and safety culture affect the &#xD;
performance of furniture craftsmen in the construction industry. The study utilizes a mixed methods research design, which involves both quantitative and qualitative data collection &#xD;
techniques. The study finds that quality management practices and safety culture significantly &#xD;
impact the performance of furniture craftsmen in the construction industry. The study &#xD;
concludes that implementing quality management practices and promoting a safety culture &#xD;
can enhance the performance of furniture craftsmen in the construction industry in Niger &#xD;
State.</summary>

Abstract: ABSTRACT&#xD;
This research was designed to study the impact of Public Procurement System on Public &#xD;
Building Projects in Osun State. Three research question were answered and two hypothesis &#xD;
were used to guide the study. A structured questionnaire which was developed by the research &#xD;
and was used for data collection. The structured questionnaire was validated by three (3) &#xD;
experts from the department of industrial and technology education. The validated instrument &#xD;
was prepared for a population of study is sixty (60) which consist of forty-five (45) public &#xD;
buildings and fifteen (15) procurements in some selected public building projects in Osun &#xD;
State. The instrument was administered to the respondent with the help of three (3) research &#xD;
assistant. The research questions answers were analyzed using frequency counts, mean and &#xD;
standard deviation while the t-test used to analyze the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. &#xD;
Findings revealed that all the public building and procurement in public building projects all &#xD;
agreed to the public procurement success factors that have significant influence on public &#xD;
building construction performance in Osun State. Findings of the study also revealed that the &#xD;
public buildings and procurement all agreed to the extent to which due process is observe &#xD;
and the impact of public procurement system on public building project in Osun State. The &#xD;
study recommends that the adopt and implement e-tendering/bidding. This will ensure that &#xD;
the key public procurement success factors, transparency, cost-effectiveness, competition, &#xD;
fairness, &amp; equity are adhered to costs benefit analysis on public projects to be undertaken &#xD;
before construction, with stakeholders/community participation. The study also &#xD;
recommended that the public procurement should be more transparent with possibility of &#xD;
meeting minutes being made available to the public as well as video archives, proper &#xD;
documentation at all stages to enhance monitoring, evaluation and audit. The study also &#xD;
recommends E-Tendering, contractor selection and rating system to be introduced and &#xD;
implemented. Improve communication and monitoring by adopting ICT.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: GREEN BUILDING PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE  DEVELOPMENT IN ABUJA, NIGERIA: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS

Abstract: This study investigated green building project management for sustainable development in Abuja, &#xD;
Nigeria. It assessed the challenges that green building project management faces and means for &#xD;
prospects on sustainable development. Three research questions and two hypotheses tested at 0.05 &#xD;
level of significance for the study. A survey research design was adopted for the study. The &#xD;
population consist of 108 building professionals in Abuja, 53 with a 3-5 years working experience &#xD;
and certification and 55 with a 5 year and above working experience and certification. A 4-point &#xD;
scale 30 items questionnaire validated by three (3) lecturers from the Department of Industrial and &#xD;
Technology Education, Federal University of Technology Minna was used for data collection. &#xD;
Mean, standard deviation and t-test statistical tool (SPSS) were used for data analysis. Results &#xD;
reveals that certain factors are hindering the development of green building in Abuja. It also reveals &#xD;
that there is level of sustainability of green building development in Abuja is inadequate. &#xD;
Furthermore, there is no significant difference between the mean response of building &#xD;
professionals with 3-5 years working experience and certification on green building development &#xD;
hindered by some challenges in Nigeria built environment and there is no significant difference &#xD;
between the mean response of building professionals with 5 years and above working experience &#xD;
and certification on the perceived level of adoption and sustainability of green building practices &#xD;
in the construction projects. It is therefore concluded that taking into consideration the huge &#xD;
environmental impact of conventional buildings, the need for adoption of green building practices &#xD;
in the study area was examined and factors are identified as hindrances to the sustainable &#xD;
development of green building in project management. Furthermore, there is a new to improve the &#xD;
level of adoption of green building practices into construction project. Hence, it is recommended &#xD;
that full establishment of Green Building Council of Nigeria (GBCN) that will be responsible for &#xD;
awareness creation, introduction of guidelines, tools and techniques that will drive green building &#xD;
practices for future project.</summary>
